AMD Opensource Gallium is a PITA

Last night I was reading an article comparing proprietary catalyst drivers with opensource gallium drivers. It was an eye-opener. Cases such as this shitty/shoddy performance of gallium drivers is the reason why people prefer proprietary blobs to FOSS bits and pieces. Here is just an example.
